We connect past and future. This is because we always live in the present, and the present always lies between past and future.
As such beings, is it okay for us to live our lives thinking only of ourselves and the things close to us?
My answer is “NO.”
We are living in an extremely difficult time. People from the past might ask, “What’s so hard about living when there’s plenty of food and no threat to life from violence?” Yet the present we inhabit is undeniably, profoundly difficult to live in.
So what is the cause of this difficulty in living?
It is that we have no choice but to live in the society that has already been created. No matter how absurd that society and the rules that shape it may be, as long as those society and rules do not change, we will have to live by them. And the very distortion in which the rich continue to acquire more and more wealth while the poor become even poorer is proof of the absurdity of modern society.
So who exactly created such a society and its rules? It was people who lived in the past, and people living in the same era as us. And unfortunately, the rules created by them and us have made modern society terribly difficult to live in. Unless the people living in this society now try to change it, I can’t help but feel it will become an even more difficult society to live in.
What should we do in these times?
It is to correct the absurdity of society. To correct a society in which the strong exploit the weak. Up until now, the system that allows the strong to remain strong has continued to be strengthened, and they will continue to try to keep the system without rest until now. They do not care about the pain of the weak, of those trying to live simple, honest lives. We should not continue to tolerate their callous greed. This is because that such silence is what creates the current hardship we face.
So, what exactly should we do?
It means not turning a blind eye to the absurdity of society and preventing the creation of any more absurd rules, whether they be legal or unspoken. We need to take action to prevent the creation of any more rules that allow the strong to continue to obtain wealth without stopping the exploitation of the weak. Ideally, we should be changing all unreasonable rules to sensible ones, but unfortunately, for the time being, the best we can do is to prevent the creation of more absurd rules, and I believe even this will be extremely difficult. That said, if we do not confront these absurdities, our society will become even more difficult to live in, and we will pass on an even more difficult society to future generations.
Living in a society where absurdity has become the norm, you might find yourself barely able to endure it, with no energy left to confront it. But if we ignore the absurdity right before our eyes, not only will the future remain difficult, but the society we live in will stay just as hard to navigate. On the other hand, if even one more person refuses to look away from the absurdity before them and keeps trying to correct it in some way, this difficult society will gradually change into something different.
Let’s not tolerate this difficult society, but do something to make it a better one.

こんにちは。
Wall Egg and Seeds
「Wall Egg and Seeds」が公平な社会の実現の「種」になることを祈って。

Hello,
The name of this site, Wall Egg and Seeds, was inspired by a speech that a Japanese writer gave abroad in which he used the words “Wall” and “Egg” to describe the relationship between the powerful and the weak, and I combined these words with “Seeds”.
For me, the “wall” is the mighty power that denies democracy. The “egg” is the individual who tries to win and protect democracy in the name of democracy.
Most people feel that when “egg” hit the “wall,” she or he just breaks and the “wall” doesn’t take damage , and while there are many people who stand on the side of the “wall,” the number of people who try to stand on the side of the “egg” seems to be seriously decreasing. If this situation continues, I cannot help but feel that true democracy, far from being realized, but will be relegated somewhere as mere idealism.
Now that many adults have become silent about democracy, I have started “Wall Egg and Seeds” in the hope that it will be an opportunity for as many people as possible to think about the importance of democracy and take a step towards realizing it. I am not very good at writing, but thank you for reading.
May “Wall Egg and Seeds” be a “seed” for the realization of a fair world!
